Team Administrator - Scientific Operations
Salary range: £24,589 - £26,000 plus excellent benefits
The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute conducts cutting edge genomic research and we are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Team Administrator to join the Scientific Operations admin team.
The role is a full time post which will involve delivering high level administrative support to the Scientific Operations Senior Leadership Team. This will include, but will not be limited to, diary organisation and coordination, meeting support, arranging travel where necessary, ensuring all visitors are registered to come on site and help the delivery of team objectives.
The successful candidate will need to be able to prioritise their work load in a very busy, dynamic environment with often rapidly changing priorities, and they will need to be flexible and have a positive approach to their work. It is important that the successful candidate is a fast learner and has the confidence to ask questions.
- Proficient in multiple diary management
- Minute taking as well as the organisation of committee meetings and management of action lists
- Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and a confident communicator able to build relationships with all levels of staff
- A proactive approach to supporting senior members of staff
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
- A flexible approach, able to manage priorities and to respond to changes in workload at short notice
- Ability to work as part of a team but also the ability to work independently
- Computer literacy to include the Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Previous experience in coordinating projects
- Visio skills
The Sanger Institute is a charitably funded research centre focused on understanding the role of genetics in health and disease. We use state of the art large-scale genomic approaches to drive world-leading projects to uncover the basis of genetic and infectious disease. To help researchers to develop their skills and networks, the Institute hosts a range of scientific seminars with internal and invited speakers, scientific group meetings and skills development workshops. In addition the Campus is home to the Wellcome Trust Advanced Course and Scientific Conferences programme and the Wellcome Trust Conference Centre.
