Postdoctoral Fellow - Transcriptomic Analysis of Immune Cells in Dengue Fever

Salary in the region of £31,503 - £39,492 (dependent on experience) plus excellent benefits

Fixed term for 2 years

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to carry out single cell transcriptome profiling of the innate immune response in dengue virus infected patients using single-cell RNA sequencing. Specifically the aim is to gain an insight into the immune mechanisms that allow the development of an asymptomatic infection followed by virus clearance versus those mechanisms that lead to fever or severe infection.

The role will be part of the Teichmann group working on a specific project with collaborators at Mahidol University, Thailand and Oxford University.

Essential Skills

  • PhD in immunology 
  • Extensive experience in T cell and B cell experiments and up to date knowledge of T and B cell biology 
  • Experience in transcriptomic analysis, including population RNA-seq and single cell RNA-seq with both plate-based and droplet based methods 
  • Expertise with data analysis and interpretation
  • Good publication track record in this area 
  • Ability to interact and work closely with the clinical teams in Thailand

  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of the literature
